Okay, I'm going to introduce this fandom and characters because it is tiny.

The Fandom: If you're a fan of the Witchlands series by Susan Dennard then you might know about the misadventures of Hive Mind Winnie parts 1 and 2, the read along etc... For those who don't know this is now a completed trilogy!!! (And initially it wasn't going to be a book at all.) The Author, Susan Dennard, did this choose your own adventure twitter poll kind of event and it was meant to be just a fun little exercise, but Dennard ended up taking two of the characters of the event created a whole new series surrounding them and the world she created in the twitter event but while the world/universe is the same the plot of the book and the depth of the characters go above and beyond.

Needless to say, I'm in love with this series and as I am writing this the third book is out and it is everything I could have ever hoped for!

And now for the prompts!

Winnie Wednesday/Jay Friday

It would be so interesting to see an exploration into Winnie and/or Jay's character and especially their relationship with each other, with their world, especially after the reveal of the Pure Heart.

I know we sort of know the as Winnie puts it "shitty history" of the lost years between her dad disappearing to the events of the beginning of the first book but it would be kinda neat to see them pining for each other (especially Ugh, Jay.) I'm sorry I was one of the luminerds/hivemind winnie peeps and Ugh, Jay is forever going to be a term of endearment for me and Winnie lmao.
Or now that things have settled in Hemlock Falls, will Winnie and Jay ever have a real deep discussion about the lost years? Post canon would also be a nice place to explore with their dynamic too
So what about Jay then? If you feel like exploring all things werewolf I'm on board.
Want to tackle Jay's band and songwriting? I'm here for it.
Anything between books 1 and 2, Canon Divergent, Or AUs! Always love AUs!!! A soulmate AU might be fun for them given their backgrounds too.

How about Monster Research mission and/or Diana Hunting Mission? It can take place in their hometown or maybe they're sent to one of the different forests in the world. Basically, I'm more thinking this is a time skip after the chaos and peace found within the final installment. Maybe they go visit Darian and Andrew

It would be so cool to see how they met and when they fell in love.
Was Bryant already a Defector? (I think he must have been given his mother??? Maybe even she was one and she taught him magic to protect himself???) Regardless, I would love to see your interpretation!!!
Did he tell Fran about him being a lēgāta right away??? Did she find out and he had to prove he was a Defector? Was there a "It's not what you think!" moment? omg the possibilities are endless especially when one of Winnie's core memories of her father is when he said:
"Besides, he would say whenever Winnie would ask him about why he gave it all up, I didn’t move to Hemlock Falls for my degrees, Win-Ben. She always thought that was the most romantic thing she’d ever heard."

Darian Wednesday/Andrew Monday

Oh my god their story is so romantic okay? Like Andrew stood by Darian when Jeremiah Tuesday RUINED the small Wednesday family we know and love. They were outcasts and Andrew and Darian had only had two dates. The second of which being the night before Darian, Winnie, and their mom was hauled in for questioning and lost their Luminary status. Like... my god the rest of high school must have been absolutely shit for them and Andrew did not care and loved Darian anyway.

To be honest I'd love seeing the lost years with these two, or the missing scenes in canon. Like we see Andrew's distress over Darian's highs and lows and vice versa but it would be cool to see a little window of what they were going through during all of the chaos.
Also it would just be so sick to see them have a great adventure in Italy!!! These boys deserve the world, I'm so happy for them.

Leona Morgan/Mason Tuesday

Like with Winnie's parents... I NEED TO KNOW MORE. Omg I love Ms. Morgan with my whole heart and I have the biggest more desperate desire to know more about her and the Tuesday Lead Hunter Mason. How did they meet? I want to know everything. Please. I will take whatever crumb you are generous enough to give me for this pair

Oh my god, Oh my god such an underrated book series. I do not even know where to begin or who to begin with but I'll try. I LOVE these characters so god damn much it's just unreal.

WHY WAS THAT MONK SMILING WHEN AEDUAN PICKED THE BLACK SET OF TRAVELING CLOTHES HMMMMMM??? I cackled with my friend about this recently and I was really hoping the reveal would be that Aeduan accidentally picked out the sexiest outfit he could have. Something like the Yor Forger's Assassination dress or a sexier version of the Diana revenge dress with a cloak added into the mix. The comedy of errors that would follow after that. Don't get me wrong I loved how everything played out but DAMN I would have loved to see the payoff of Aeduan having to explain himself. XD

Okay for more general prompts for them... why are they so damn romantic!!! My Heart!

Another finding each other storyline. I'm weak for them finding each other and speaking to each other in their Nomatsi mother tongue, melts my heart every time.
Tbh anything involving the "Come back to me" or "I will always find you" trope.
Also... omg if they had a braid ceremony... where they just like spoke vows to each other I'd die. I love these two so much.

And unfortunately this fed my multishipping beast of a heart so here's where we are. Dear Candymaker I apologize for you dealing with my nonsense. I genuinely do, especially since I have no prompts for them but the possibilities are delicious.

I love them, they had me almost screaming in public when I read chapter 21 in Belladonna AND THEN HOOOOOO BOY CHAPTER 29!!!!! And after that I well am a mess. I love these two holy crap they are something to behold. I just love their enemies-fast friends-lovers dynamic (lmao a little one sided on Signa's side but you get me.) I love Death and him being so endeared towards Signa—the way he is so gentle with her (and even when he's not lmaoooo.) I just really like them and the end of book 1 + 2 had me screaming. Still hands down some of the most romantic "come back to me" dynamics ever.

So with this, I'd prefer if this was aged up into adulthood just because enough time will have passed for feelings and fame and coming into their own careers will add some spice

Maybe one helps the other out because of a bad breakup, and the media is everywhere? A photo was taken, and the world assumed, so they just roll with it until it all blows over?

Hop and/or Gloria have kept the truth about a little crush they had from childhood a secret. It never ever comes out well, maybe someone got a little tipsy from attending some event, and maybe they might have said something about that.

Region touring together because Hop has to attend scientific conventions and Gloria has to go battle in various tournaments. Their schedules line up perfectly. So they decide to just go together and share a room because it's cheaper and well Things Happen

Oh boy this game. I have no words that can even describe how much I LOVE this game. The storytelling was fantastic and I got really invested in all major and minor characters' stories. I'm totally fine with including any other characters though as I mentioned in my DNWs, I'd prefer Alfyn not having a huge role in the story.

I’m kind of open to anything but if you do need a jumping off point check out the prompts below.

The Characters

Therion - I love him and would die for him he is my perfect little trash bandit. It kills me how he longs to belong somewhere but is equally afraid of it for very good reasons. Because of this he’s so heavily guarded and his reactions to people (the 8 and Cordelia) genuinely caring about his well being? I’m so happy I started with him, that I got to see his growth throughout the story and how his emotional wounds finally seem like they’re on their way to healing.

Cordelia - I love Cordelia and she is entirely underrated. She’s been through quite a lot and her faith in my best boy helped him come back into the world able to to trust and love people again. She’s very soft and caring and now that her stolen heirlooms have been restored to her she can come back into the world herself.

Oh boy, this is very near and dear to my heart aka I cannot get this brain worm out of my head.

I always loved their relationship and Calla always seemed like a motherly figure towards Kell. She never seemed afraid of him or sycophantic. She always just seemed genuinely sweet to him, enough to the point where I had an ongoing theory—before the 3rd book came out—that she was really Kell's mother, but she was forced to give him up because of political reasons and/or she didn't have the resources to protect him the way the King and Queen did.

It would be really cool to see that kind of a scenario or honestly I'd love to see more of Calla being motherly to Kell growing up, teasing him about Lila, anything. I just think she loved him a whole lot which is what Kell always really wanted ; __ ;
Any sort of thing where he asks Calla advice on anything at any moment in pre-canon, canon or post-canon. (Even if it was talking to her ghost! I would take it in a heartbeat!!!)
A Calla lives AU or an AU where she is his mom? Omg I'd die. BUT I also just like the found family aspect. She saw the outcast "royal" and rather than recoil from him or treat him like a god... she just loved him. He was a little boy who needed some parental love. (Since clearly the queen and king did not really see him like that after all...)

Kell/Lila

I love them and their brand of chaos so very very much. Lol miss Lila Bard and her hard sharp edges only being soft for Kell? Our resident sad boy? Hell yes, thank you I will have several. Just a head's up I'm only about 40% done with FToP (I KNOW, I'M LATE BUT LIFE GOT IN THE WAY.) That being said you can do spoilers since I will be finished with the book way before Feb 14th.

Anyway, yeah honestly Lila being soft for Kell could be the whole damn prompt but Kell being hard for Lila (interpret that any way you want >:3) would also be *chef's kiss~*

I have been craving a domestic fluff kid fic of Hua Cheng and Xie Lian raising their beautiful baby girl Ban Yue. Like a fic where Ban Yue is Xie Lian's adopted daughter, and Hua Cheng is her doting step-father? Oh, my heart—I swoon. It could be anything from Ban Yue and Xie Lian bonding in any way, any time setting. Like it could just be them talking, then playing music, dancing or LMAO "cooking lessons" and then Hua Cheng finding his little ghost step daughter adorable and helping her how to properly cook—anything really.

I don't mind if this is a modern day AU or still set in the same time period. I just love the idea of them being the best co-parents ever.

I also would not object to Hua Cheng side-eyeing Pei Ming because his nephew is becoming very good friends with Ban Yue. San Lang/HC is finally won over because he sees Pei Su obliterate one of Ban Yue's bullies.

I love these two so much and I'm sorry, but the biggest reason why Pei Su took his punishment one hundred percent had everything to do with him wanting to keep Ban Yue safe. Not just that though, like him following her in book three to make absolutely sure she was safe and you know everything that happened in books 3 and 5—just—excuse me but he just loves his ghost girlfriend and no one can tell me otherwise.

So for them I just want to see them getting together, don't care if it's canon divergent, canon-compliant, post-canon, during canon, in an AU—I am very easy here. It can be fluff, angst, humor—whatever—I just would love to see them get together.

*Like Octopath I'm going to introduce this fandom and characters a little bit more because uh... at the current date of 12/21/22 there are no existing fics for the Luminaries.

The Fandom: Okay so if you're a fan of the Witchlands series by Susan Dennard then you likely know about the misadventures of Hive Mind Winnie part 1 and it's current run of part 2 that's on Twitter right now.

For those who don't know Susan Dennard is a pretty badass authors I highly rec her books and uh, yeah she had an unpublished work that she was going to completely scrap but then made a choose your own adventure thing via twitter poll and thus Hivemind Winnie was born?

After the little misadventure and us killing her—we tried but the hivemind was chaotic but a lot of fun—Susan unscrapped the idea and from what I understand it's a little bit of a hybrid from what it was before the twitter poll adventures, to what it was after and finally the finished book that's been published. I gotta say fam it's hella good.

The Characters:

Winnie Wednesday - the main character and a chaotic but stubborn and hardworking bean. Her family was made to be "outcasts" because her father betrayed their entire town and even though the rest of them are innocent they weren't spared that damning sentence. No one has seen her father since. Also, it needs to be said her town is a little different from others but not in the "I'm not like other girls" sense, it's more like they live near a forest where all hellish nightmares live and they are these beasties hunters.

Jay Friday - excuse me for quoting the book description here because I honestly do not know if me describing "Ugh Jay" Friday will do him justice XD

She always just seemed genuinely sweet to him, enough to the point where I had an ongoing theory—before the 3rd book came out—that she was really Kell's mother, but she was forced to give him up because of reasons.

So ngl it would be really cool to see that kind of a thing or just Calla being motherly to Kell growing up. I just think she loved him a whole lot which is what Kell always really wanted ; __ ;

Also, any sort of thing where he asks Calla advice on anything at any moment in pre-canon, canon or post-canon. Basically, in this house we do not acknowledge what happened to Calla in book 3, so please if you can help it no mention of her dying, it broke my heart

Years later Hori becomes a famous director/producer and Kashima gets cast into one of his plays (without his knowledge). He’s happy because he genuinely misses Kashima Kashima is freaking out because just when she got over her feels they are reignited.

Chiyo/Nozaki

Chiyo and some guy (maybe a new student or a new person in art club?) start hanging out, and Nozaki starts to feel a little bit jealous. Sort of like when he was when Chiyo got Miyako’s autograph. What’s up with that???
Chiyo finally figuring out how to confess her feelings. I’m thinking since she kind of crashes and burns when she tries to confess outright, she takes a page out of Nozaki’s book and writes out her feelings in a one-shot manga or doujin.

I love him and would die for him. He is my perfect little trash bandit. It kills me how he longs to belong somewhere but is equally afraid of it for very good reasons. Because of this, he’s so heavily guarded and *sobs* his reactions to people (the 8 and Cordelia) genuinely caring about his wellbeing? It just hrrk! I’m so happy I started with him, that I got to see his growth throughout the story and how his emotional wounds finally seem like they’re on their way to healing.

Oh man, I love this movie so much. It is easily in my top three favorite Ghibli films, and I just can’t get enough of Kiki, Jiji, and Tombo. They’re so sweet, and I just want to see a more expanded world for them!

Does her brand of magic fall into a Divination field because she was so lost for a while and didn’t know where to turn? Maybe she got involved with something like Tarot or Tea Leaves. I’m thinking of these two because they can be used to help guide someone on the right path, to take a break, etc... I think Tarot would be great because it's another thing she can share with Ursula especially since Tarot cards and art go hand in hand. However, I think tea leaves might be great too just because her mother works in potions, and her home away from home is in a bakery. I think those things combined, plus her struggle with finding herself, would tie into her own magic. Or heck, maybe not even any of those. Maybe you saw her in a different line of magic altogether; either way, I am fascinated by any ideas on her abilities and their growth.

Cordelia - I love Cordelia and she is entirely underrated. She’s been through quite a lot and her faith in my best boy helped him come back into the world able to to trust and love people again. She’s very soft and caring and now that her stolen heirlooms have been restored to her she can come back into the world herself.

Man this movie messed me up and all the right ways. Honestly one of the most chilling things was to see all of the Burnish being used as engine fuel… I like—ngl I cried, and then when Lio gets used as the core? ; __ ;

Honestly I will be happy with anything you come up with, there are so many possibilities just know that a heavy angst fic is A-okay by me, but if you want to do a flufflier or humor fic those are also so Very VERY good. I have some ideas below but again like if you have an idea in mind or started something by viewing my likes list go for it!

Lio - Um yes I love him. He’s just such a tortured soul and true cares about people. I like—honestly he is my favorite character. The way he used his flame to protect Galo? How hard he fights for the Burnish? How hard Gueira and Meis fight for him and stop at nothing to save him speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. I just love him and want him to have nice things

Galo - This wonderful brilliant dumbass. I also love him and despite me calling him a dumbass—he’s actually pretty with it—especially when it comes to adapting to his environment. He takes in new information and examines it critically rather than completely reject it. i.e. Like the way he approached Kray about the Burnish experiments—granted it was not the smartest way—however, he still went to find the truth no matter how much it could have hurt him and that really defines what kind of guy he is.

Gueira & Meis - So unfortunately we didn’t get to see much of these two but what we did get to see was GOLD. I love them, I love how they fight so hard to protect their fellow burnish and how loyal they are to Lio. Like omg when the Burnish were being rounded up but they used the last of their strength to save Lio, believing—knowing that he would come back for them? *hrrk* My heart.

I'd love to see what was going on with Gueira/Meis while they were locked up side by side. What did they talk about? Their faith in Lio? Them possibly growing up with Lio? Their feels for each other? And honestly you can go as angsty as you want to with this.

Ah… my poor beautiful tiny manga fandom… I love this 6 volume series so much. The storytelling can be fast paced at times but it doesn't even phase me considering how detailed and intricate the themes, lore, relationships and monsters & magic are. For this fandom anything goes, like any AUs, tropes, canon compliant or divergent is all welcome here.

Bonus points if you have your own take of the song/legend: “Princess Princess why do you cry?”

If you want to make a fic about the Princess and the Demon boy when they were kids, or have any fic at all featuring them (kid or adult) I'm all for it.

I love Mahiru Shiraishi/Mitsuru Suou they are such little disasters anything with them would be amazing but I’m a multishipper so if you have a ship that isn't them and you've been dying to write your ship? Write your ship! I'd love to read it!!!
